Nicholas Rumney

Senior Optometrist / Chairman

Nicholas Rumney

Our senior optometrist Nick Rumney is absolutely passionate about clinical optometry and the real benefits it can bring to people. When not extolling the benefits to clients, patients and staff alike he can be found lecturing and teaching up and down the UK as well
as abroad.

Nick loves to combine his optometry with travel, he has practised as an optometrist in Australia, Jamaica and Kenya and spoken at venues as diverse as Seattle, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Prague, Berlin, Budapest and most recently in Colombia.

Most recently, Nick has completed a course in Independent Prescribing, meaning the majority of conditions can be treated and managed in the practice without the need for outside referral.

When not involved in optometry or busy at BBR Nick can be found following International Rugby, especially the Six Nations. Though a keen supporter of England he also has a soft spot for Ireland.

Married to Linda who is a nurse, Nick has two children born and brought up in Hereford, one an aspiring software engineer and the other a paramedic based in London’s East End.
